Prof. Shmuel Moreh

The Late Saleh Rahmin Masri - New York
The Association of Jewish Academics from Iraq and the Babylonian Jewry Heritage Center in Israel announce with profound sadness the passing of their benevolent supporter since the establish of the Association in 1980. The late Saleh Masri was born in Baghdad- Iraq in 1910 and left it to New York where he worked in business. He encouraged the Jews of Iraq in Israel to continue writing in Arabic language which he adored and admired and supported morally and with funds the 31 books published in Arabic by the Association.
He kept with pride his Iraqi Jewish name in America, preserved his Babylonian heritage and customs of prayers, feasts, food and the family warmth and social life with his friends.
