My name is Tamara, I live in Australia, and I am
the 19 year old daughter of Miriam Vieyra (maiden
name Twena). My mother’s grandfather was Abraham
Twena and her Great-grandfather was Hakham Solomon
Abed Twena.
I have been trying for almost a year to research my
background.
PLEASE - if any of you have any information on the
history of the Twena family on anything related to
this topic, I would be more than grateful to hear
from you.

Abraham Twena wrote a series of books in Hebrew
(about ten) on various aspects of Jewish Babylonian
history and you should consult these books before
you look elsewhere.
The word “twena” means “little
fig” and the original ancestor of the family
may have emigrated to Baghdad from Aleppo, together
with fifty other families in the year 1743.
