My name is Tamara, I live in Australia, and I am the 19 year old daughter of Miriam Vieyra (maiden name Twena). My mother’s grandfather was Abraham Twena and her Great-grandfather was Hakham Solomon Abed Twena.
I have been trying for almost a year to research my background.
PLEASE - if any of you have any information on the history of the Twena family on anything related to this topic, I would be more than grateful to hear from you.

Abraham Twena wrote a series of books in Hebrew (about ten) on various aspects of Jewish Babylonian history and you should consult these books before you look elsewhere.

The word “twena” means “little fig” and the original ancestor of the family may have emigrated to Baghdad from Aleppo, together with fifty other families in the year 1743.
