The Jews of Iraq exhibition
From The Jewish Museum

Dear Mr Dangoor

Now that By the Rivers of Babylon – The story of the Jews of Iraq has closed, I am writing to thank you for your support of this exciting exhibition.

Response to the exhibition was overwhelming and the accompanying education, public talks and events programmes was sold out and clearly appreciated. The critical response was also extremely positive and I enclose a selection of reviews that the exhibition received. We also had several radio interviews for various programmes, such as BBC World Service – Reporting Religion and Outlook, DeutscheWelle Radio, etc.

As I believe you know, such an exhibition had not been seen in Britain before, and many people commented that it has been a rare privilege to show the long and distinguished history of the Iraqi Jewish community. More importantly the exhibition has been turned into a travelling exhibition and its first venue is the Jewish Museum Manchester.

Your collaboration and generosity contributed greatly to the success of the exhibition and increased knowledge and awareness of the heritage and achievements of this little known yet exceptional community.

Many thanks again, and every good wish.

Yours sincerely

Miri Hintz
